Hey guys, major props to Toyota for offering 7 airbags as standard! The competition here does offer 6 but that's limited to the top-spec variants. Not to mention, the Yaris also gets rear wheel disc brakes, stability control and traction control! As for the boots, the Honda City reigns supreme. While the other two are plenty accommodating too, the City's trunk is simply collosal.
Fiat Linea TJet was the first to get all disc brakes. A turbocharged petrol engine. Rain sensing wipers. Automatic headlamps. Blue and Me system that was much advanced than cars in India available. Later on Verna was first to offer many features including a successful diesel. City was late to pickup until it lost to Ciaz. Now all cars have good features and value. However Verna has diesel automatic, ventilated air cooled seats, first to get android and iOS music system. And best value for money. For diesel it's Verna. For petrol it's now Yaris vs City. But city will still sell well. Yaris is a good car no doubt.

Me, Anish George and family bought Verna after comparing it with other cars of the same segment. We bought it for the following reasons: It’s a very beautiful sedan Car with powerful engine. Nobody can resist its temptation. The cascade grille upfront gives the car a dynamic look. It’s modern and sporty in appearance. LED DRLs and projector lights give Verna a majestic look. It has a coupe-like design and i like that very much. The alloy wheels look like propellers and add to the sportiness of the overall design. I would go for the Honda City.... This car is pure class.... That upmarket feeling, that wounderful I-Vtec engine and the sense of roominess is just awesome.
gautham vasudev Yeah a 5 star ncap score, 6 airbags, advanced high strength steel chassis same as that of elantra, k2 platform, 150kgs heavier than city, sure it's very unsafe.
Jacob Varghese Raj It's more than adequate i m 5'11 and i was perfectly comfortable when i sat in the new verna, sure city has more space but i won't pay ₹2.5 lakh more for top model city just for a little more legroom and less features
Mine is HYUNDAI Verna SX+ Diesel AT, my last car was Honda City. As per my experience goes Verna is the best in city as well as on Highways. Its 1.6 CC engine is unbeatable.
Haha...Toyota build qualty is the worst of the three that's why they giving 7 airbag....just look inova shit build quality... Toyota is like maruthi in build quality

I own a verna and my brother owns city Believe me guys in terms of rear space, boot, cabin, sound system, driving, exterior looks Honda City is way ahead of verna City is the strongest all-rounder for a family as well as driving lovers On the other hand Verna has an very slight edge over the city in terms of sport driving and features . But verna has okay space in rear for three people, I know when compared to city it is nowhere but it's not impossible for three at rear Mileage is far behind than city And very important..your family will choose city without any discussion at all and that's the X Factor as well as all-rounder I don't have yaris neither I have drove but according to this video yaris is also a good option for family lovers who gives more attention to safety and convenience of family rather than speeds or dynamics

Buy Yaris base model.. you won't regret ..it's crazy suspension too..drive all three..Yaris is more stable..I have both city n Yaris..take a test drive on some rough road.. you'll know the difference
Nice video.. however I feel that a special mention should have been given to Yaris for having 7 airbags and all disc brakes.. safety is a priority these days
@@venkatchintalapuri9148 Considering the odds are pretty good that I would be in an accident, when I buy a car the number of airbags is the last thing I think about. I prefer a car that handles and steers predictably so that I avoid accidents. I was involved in 3 accidents violent enough that the car nearly overturned, none of those cars had airbags, and 1 or 2 didn't even have seatbelts they were that old.
@@howardkerr8174 agree... Even if u put aside those airbags, yaris' safety kit is far better than "feature" rich Hyundai... My parents met with accident long back, since then my only priority is safety... I don't like Maruti Suzuki n Hyundai India bcz of their reliance on features than safety in selling their car.. Of course blame partly goes to customers for not demanding safety n partly to govt for not mandating safety kit which they lately did by AIS 145 norms...
I have been using Honda City iVtec V CVT for the last 6 months. It has run 18800 kms til now. The mileage has been very decent so far and varies between 26kmpl to 12kmpl depending on driving style and traffic conditions. I keep climate control always on at 26-28 degree celsius. Mileage is the worst in the hot sun during the first half of day because of the AC running at peak. Pickup is a bit less in ECO mode. But if you want to get good mileage, I recommend you keep this button on and keep RPM below 2k. Cabin is a bit noisy on bad roads, but virtually noiseless on newer roads. The body sheet metal is very thin and very prone to dents. This is the only negative point I have seen in my City till now. But the brand value, styling and recognition is far ahead of other cars in this segment.
Arun Shenoy Obviously, No disrespect. Its all on a lighter note. Cause its a Automotive community thing after all ☺️ I dint mean it in a bad way. All on a light note. Cheers

After watching many biased looking comparisons, this one really feels genuine... You guys have nitpicked cons of the winner car too which the other portals simply don't. They just create a picture in the whole video that this particular car is winner no matter what it's shortcomings are. Kudos...!!!!🙌

Honda City petrol eyes close though I would prefer manual. I will take its ctv for smooth driving, paddle shift is important for me and reach for that perfect driving position lol. seats steering and seats, space is the other reason. My next option would actually be toyota. It comes with 7 airbags as standard I think ? tyre pressure is also cool feature. verna ventilated seats affect ac performance ?
Guys i am really confused Y are u not indulging Skoda Rapid and VW Vento. They also stand in the same platform of verna city and yaris and i have seen this in many channels.
Krishna Kumar They only review cars which sell well. Which I think is a little silly. In petrol automatic C2 sedan segment none of these cars can touch the Vento TSI in terms of sheer driving thrill.
What don't most people know about the "YARIS"? It has 5 * (star) in safety by the Asean NCAP! What do you think of it? TOYOTA is the world leader. Worlds N0 1 selling the car is TOYOTA Corolla Altis! An 8th Valuable company in the world. I gotta go bye.
Very Good comparison which I was waiting specially in PETROL Automatic. But have some queries. Seems Honda Petrol CVT is better, but as Drivers car seem Hyundai Verna AT. Toyota top model VX cost is much high compare to Verna SX(O). I will be buying car in Sep. 2018. Even has confusion between recently launched Creta SX Petrol AT and Ford Ecosport Titanium + Petrol AT. But safety features are better in Verna and Ecosport compare to Creta. Please advise ....Thanks
".....and he doesn't have a mother-in-law....". That little comment just sort of thrown in there, made me laugh. Terrific review, guys, very informative. Here in the U.S. we had all three cars to chose from, but only as hatchbacks. NONE of these cars look as inviting in their North American "guise", but that is down to cost cutting by all 3 manufacturers. Which one would I buy if I wanted a small sedan? You made a compelling case for each. Ironically, an important feature of your Yaris was not offered in North America, can you believe the Yaris automatic transmission was a conventional 4 speed? I would have to go with a manual transmission, but I don't know which of these I would buy....coin toss between Honda and Hyundai? I knew I forgot something: you guys are good together, you don't talk over each other like some of the testers on other channels and you both have a sense of humor with a touch of whimsy....love your presentation.
Honda city with its coolest design leaves a classy impression...its most spacious & comfortable..if we are spending money above 10 lakhs then its value for money definitely
Verna for diesel and Honda for petrol. Honda for spacious rear seat and Hyundai for features. If you can't invest your strength and time for researching which car is best for you or if you are a noob go for toyota you don't have to worry about anything.
Do they really delivered those mileage figures on road conditions?? Please confirm because its like a dream that verna petrol delivering 18.some km per litre on highways. Only due to mileage and driving dynamics We’ve booked verna diesel
Arun sir my monthly usage is 700KM to 800KM I know my decision must be based on the average commutes in a month but sir I drove Diesel and Petrol manuals back to back and the driving dynamics of Diesel just blown me off on the other hand petrol motor was not as exciting as diesel. Making pace and maintaining it effortlessly is the case with the petrol motor on the other hand ,sir woosh and surge of brutal power is the forte of diesel one. Confused too much sir say what should i go for. From a true enthusiast just like you. Your reply is awaited.
Arun Sir thank you for the help. Maintenance cost was never the question but you mentioned it so thank you for this too. All my confusion was that with a low running of 700-800 kms a month should I buy diesel or not? Will it hamper the pleasure of owning a diesel gem ?. However you cleared all my confusion and you found me a support for diesel. Thank you for all sir. So I’m going to take the delivery of the orange diesel beauty within 4-5 days without thinking anything else. Thank you so much Mr. Senoy. And oh yes! Thank you for bringing us the best of the automotive reviews.
Now compare the base automatics of these cars and the equation changes. Yaris J CVT @9.99L with its 7 Airbags makes for the best proposition as a city commuter. PS : Will still buy the City, in the MT guise, inspite of knowing its tinny, relatively unsafe and probably not as long lasting as the competition.
Verna is the best in the segment. But but I will pick ford ecosport S trim which comes with all these features,6 speed transmission and a turbo petrol which is more fun to drive than these sedans!!!
Sir, Great review; however, its hugely disappointing that verna auto doesn't come with 6 airbags & you fail to discuss the same safety aspects in your video. Safety is paramount, engine comes second. Rgds, Vinod
well, please add that the Hyundai Verna is the only one with a BLACK coloured model. Nothing comes close with black. I'd chose it only for having a black model. The other features are just plus points 😉...
We recognize that Korean industrial estates are rapidly evolving, including smartphones. However, in the field of cars, it is disadvantageous that there is no experience in strict international car competition.
Where’s the Vento TSI? How can you call these torque convertors as driver’s cars? Just because TSI doesn’t sell much in India doesn’t mean it’s not a worthy car.
Tushar Kamath but this is not going to age as well as the city, after some years it will become irrelevant in terms of road presence and that wow factor will fade too.
Arun Shenoy Ohh okay. Got it. Thanks! Btw, maybe just maybe would have been nicer to include the Vento TSi in this comparison. It's a great engine coupled with a very good DSG gearbox.
Hyundai may be cheaper than yaris but i would rather spend on yaris and have superb noise insulation and service costs that would be much much cheaper than the verna.

Hit like if you guyz agree
Shall I opt vernna..... or wether honda is bringing more upgrade city now???.....expecting a advice
Can u do a full review with verna, Vento, rapid, Yaris, city and ciaz???
After watching many biased looking comparisons, this one really feels genuine...
You guys have nitpicked cons of the winner car too which the other portals simply don't. They just create a picture in the whole video that this particular car is winner no matter what it's shortcomings are.
Kudos...!!!!🙌
Verna looks sexy.. honda looks bold.. yaris looks ugly..
overall i choose Verna for an complete package .. yaris too costly 👎
You get the quality for the cost.
i choose yaris for petrol and verna for diesel
Where is Volkswagen Vento ?
A thing you guys missed a BIG factor...
Isn't the Yaris the only car out of the three to have 7 airbags,TC and ESP??? ESP is a very important factor.
Tushar Kamath bro why you pick city in 3rd ..city have better performance.. Better build...better space...dynamic suspension....pls don't do this shit again...everyone know city is the 1st ....u guys can't change their minds with these paid reviews from Toyota & hyundai.
Getting Ford Figo trend petrol @5.6lacs on road . Should I buy it since new model is coming shortly?
One of the best detailed comparison, will definitely a great help to prospective buyers..kudos to you guys👍🙏
Guys i am really confused
Y are u not indulging Skoda Rapid and VW Vento.
Really good comparison review without any unnecessary drama. Thanks boys
are you suggesting verna only in petrol automatic version..or in manual also it is best??
Where is the vento tsi?
May be in VW workshop as DSG might've broken on the way to review !
Ramakrishna Grandhi DSG breaking down? Dude, those days are long gone. Drive one, the sheer thrill will make you break down in tears...
At home
24k SuperVehicles yeah right, highway is where its home is. It loves to live there, especially in sports mode. If you understand what that means...
Pranav Parashar you mean top 3 mass commuters? Actually its good TSI isnt featured here. It doesnt need any such validation...
Out of the three , which would you prefer for a petrol manual , budget 12lakhs.
City no doubt is best and still rules the segment
Hey guys please help me. Which one is good ? I have 12 Lakh budget. Please suggest me a better option. First preference is comfort.
Crisp comparison!
Where is the Ciaz Auto guys?
Zigwheels comparos are the best!
Kudos to the whole team!
Tushar Kamath The Ciaz might also get a CVT
Honda city with its coolest design leaves a classy impression...its most spacious & comfortable..if we are spending money above 10 lakhs then its value for money definitely
I like the verna but I will go for city because it is an all rounder.the only reason im not choosing verna is the back seat headroom and knee room.
is yaris better than the Volkswagen vento, skoda rapid and Suzuki ciaz
Aayush Kadam better than Vento TSI? Hell no. None of them are.
The most genuine line of the video is about the Verna cabin which is no different than its other lower segment cars
booked verna value for money
EX variant will get delivered on sep 2019 so excited 😆
Verna for diesel and Honda for petrol. Honda for spacious rear seat and Hyundai for features.
If you can't invest your strength and time for researching which car is best for you or if you are a noob go for toyota you don't have to worry about anything.
Biased towards the Yaris, slightly perhaps? Could be because the sales aren't meeting projections?
You guys missed Safety features on Yaris. I think review is incomplete .
Yaris have ground clearance issues? It cannot do well on bad roads as well as rural areas/villages....?
yep my uncle facing same issues on village roads for yaris
City is my childhood favorite sedan☺️ but now Verna is very attractive
Wow nice review. thanks guys.
7:19 That Ashish Masih reference was golden!!!!
Traditional auto or Torque converter is the balanced one... U loose mileage yes.. but still it's easier to maintain and can be rough used...
Do they really delivered those mileage figures on road conditions??
Please confirm because its like a dream that verna petrol delivering 18.some km per litre on highways. Only due to mileage and driving dynamics We’ve booked verna diesel
Can I change my booking to petrol and expect it to give me around 16-17 on highways ??
Arun sir my monthly usage is 700KM to 800KM
I know my decision must be based on the average commutes in a month but sir I drove Diesel and Petrol manuals back to back and the driving dynamics of Diesel just blown me off on the other hand petrol motor was not as exciting as diesel.
Senoy.
And oh yes! Thank you for bringing us the best of the automotive reviews.
fantastic review... although u missed boot size and dedicated one minute time on safety..
I m 6.2 which one shall i buy?i thinking to buy verna.
Excellent and informative comparision
@zigwheels .... you miss comparing over safety features... why???
Verna is the best in the segment. But but I will pick ford ecosport S trim which comes with all these features,6 speed transmission and a turbo petrol which is more fun to drive than these sedans!!!
With petrol cars sales increasing, skoda is making a mistake by not introducing the 1.2 tsi on the rapid considering it sells more than the Vento.
I think city is the best
The Yaris is UGLY, period.
First mimaroo It doesn’t look ugly in person. But yeah, the tyres look small
But if it has to petrol manual than which one to go for? Pl respond
Prashanth Kamath City🙌 if you enjoy driving
Prashanth Kamath And yaris if comfort n convenience in city driving is your top priority
Honda city is like Activa of two wheeler market, somehow yaris is quite a looker in real world rest are used too designs
Where is the Ciaz and the Rapid??
s DC7 rapid doesn't belong here
Because they are outdated
s DC7 the question should be.. "WHERE IS CHEVROLET CRUZE?"
naga sravan first of all cruze was not a mid size seden its comes in the category of octivia, elentra, civic
Anmol Jamwal I know I know. Just want to remind you guys there's a car existed in showrooms (in India) 😂
Do a swift desire vs amaze vs ameo petrol automatic review
Hyundai verna is the best Car!!!
love these guys.accurate info
Sir,
Great review; however, its hugely disappointing that verna auto doesn't come with 6 airbags & you fail to discuss the same safety aspects in your video.
Safety is paramount, engine comes second.
Rgds,
Vinod
Vinod Sasi it does come with six air bags on the SX (O) AT VTVT variant
6 and a half feet meaning 6 feet 1/2 inches or 6 feet 5-6 inches?
well, please add that the Hyundai Verna is the only one with a BLACK coloured model.
Hyundai Verna's rear seat overall is a complete No Go for me. Really crammed.
Common.. have a poll on looks and u would find Verna winning hands down !
shubham shrivastava city would win
RoOs VS can only be known by a poll
City will easily win...with its future design
Tushar Kamath but this is not going to age as well as the city, after some years it will become irrelevant in terms of road presence and that wow factor will fade too.
Great Review! If this was in our country... simply it will be Hyundai Verna Taxi 1, Toyota Yaris Taxi 2, and Honda City Family Car 1.
How's it possible that Yaris returns a better mileage in the city than out on the highway?
Arun Shenoy Ohh okay. Got it. Thanks! Btw, maybe just maybe would have been nicer to include the Vento TSi in this comparison. It's a great engine coupled with a very good DSG gearbox.
hyundai verna
Hyundai may be cheaper than yaris but i would rather spend on yaris and have superb noise insulation and service costs that would be much much cheaper than the verna.
